Rotorua Downhill Mountain Biking

We geared up not knowing what to expect as usual and were pleasantly surprised when we discovered the beginner track was nothing short of awesome. This track was fast if you wanted, had a ton of flow, large bermed turns, smaller table tops and optional jumps. Normally this is at least an intermediate trail other places. If you’re a beginner don’t worry this trail is super friendly and you won’t be disappointed, if anything this is a great trail to build skills on!

After a few runs on the Green we jumped onto a few of the blacks to see what they were like. In most places they weren’t much different from the green, fast flowy goodness but then a steep section, tight turn or optional gap were thrown your way to remind you it was a black and to keep your attention. There were a few technical trails to keep your heart pounding and your skills in check. Most of the runs wound through forest letting you experience Rotorua at it best.

Mr. Black

If you like going fast than this is the trail for you. It starts out with a small 18″ mandatory drop to filter out those not ready to shred the mountain. After that you you barrel around and down the mountain with views of the town and lake below as you launch table tops and scream around huge banked turns. A must do if you are ad advanced rider.

Beginners, intermediates and experts alike can all find something to keep them busy and tame that lust for adrenaline at the Skyline Downhill Park! We recommend at least getting the 15 ride pass because once is never enough!
