Adventure Video Series
From the first time you lay eyes on this magical mountain you will see why it has become the Icon of Washington. The views here are to die for and the hike behind the visitor center was AMAZING! The Wonderland trail can be used to put together a week long backpacking trip or there are several smaller loops available.
A Slice of “Paradise”
5.5 miles of adventure, great views of Mt. Ranier, the peaks across the range, Mt. Adams and more. We saw tons of Fat Marmots, Wild Flowers and snow fields to keep us entertained for days. This was one of the best day hikes we’ve done! Get there REALLY EARLY (7-8am) if you don’t want to feel like you’re at Disney Land.
Mt. Ranier N.P. Website
You can stay at a park campground, a private campground or anywhere for FREE in the National forest with Dispersed Camping. Pick any of the Forest Service roads near Packwood and find a spot. FS52 is paved with a lot of sites directly off the road near the river. Very busy, not very quiet. FS 46/48 much quieter. There is also a small paved road across from FS46 that ends at the river. Busy on weeknds, empty during the week.
