Waldo Lake is 36.5 miles east of Oakridge and 70 miles from the Eugene, Springfield area. Waldo is located at an elevation of 5,414 feet in the Oregon Cascades. There is lots activities to do in this area such as hiking, mountain biking, boating, fishing, swimming. There is lot of opportunity for free dispersed camping, below is where we camped.
From Oakridge Oregon: At the intersection of Crestview Street and Oregon State Highway 58 (at the only traffic light along State Highway 58 in Oakridge), travel east on Highway 58 for 23.3 miles. Turn left onto the Waldo Lake Road/Forest Road 5897. Follow 5897 for approximately 11 miles and turn right at the Y intersection onto Forest Road 5897/4290. Charlton Lake is that way too. Travel for approximately 0.3 miles and the destination will be on your left. There will be a trailhead parking area across the street.
From I-5, travel east on Highway 58 about 60 miles to the junction of Forest road 5897. Then follow the directions above.
