There are several campgrounds located along the Tellico River. We stayed at the closest one to the whitewater sections of the river. Spivey Campground. Spivey has about 16 sites with a pit toilet. All the sites have a concrete picnic table, metal fire ring you can cook on and level tent pads. You can park at 25′ rig at most of the sites and some will hold larger set-ups. Camping regulations for the Park say 5 people and 2 cars max per site. If you have a larger group there are 3 “double” sites in the back up the hill.
The Tellico River is located near Tellico Plains, TN in the Cherokee National Forest. The river is a popular destination for white water kayakers, hikers and people driving to see Bald River Falls. The road follows the river through a small gorge providing great views. If the water is high enough you will see boaters paddling down.
